appSolutions ApS is a Danish IT consultancy that helps organisations build, modernise and operate their technology — and, increasingly, hand the repetitive parts of it to AI agents they own and control.

From OpenEdge specialists to agentic infrastructure

appSolutions started as a Progress OpenEdge consultancy and has spent 30 years designing, modernising and supporting business-critical OpenEdge applications for clients around the world. Along the way we became known in the OpenEdge community for containerisation: running OpenEdge databases, PASOE and web services in Docker, with automated pipelines around them.

Today that experience extends to agentic infrastructure — multi-agent task orchestration, AI-driven DevOps, container-native OpenEdge and agent-operated deployment, management and monitoring — grounded in three decades of keeping business-critical systems running.

Who's behind appSolutions

Thomas Hansen — Founder & Managing Director. Thomas has worked in enterprise IT for more than 30 years — with Progress OpenEdge since 1995, first at Progress Software and EDB Gruppen, then independently since 1998 and as appSolutions since 2001. He designed and built Roundtable Automation, serves on the PUG Challenge organising committee, and has led cloud and DevOps transformation for Danish software companies — most recently as DevOps Manager and Technical Operations Manager for a Nordic workforce-management SaaS, taking a containerised OpenEdge platform onto Azure AKS with GitOps and Terraform.

Clients work directly with Thomas — on project engagements, or in architect, lead and interim roles on a B2B basis.

Frederik Hansen — Technical Resource. Frederik supports delivery across development and operations tasks — working hands-on in the same agentic workflows, with every deliverable passing senior review before it reaches a client.

appSolutions is senior-led. Every engagement is led hands-on by Thomas, with Frederik supporting delivery — and everything that ships passes senior review. Behind the team sits our production agent platform: multi-agent development and operations workflows that give a small consultancy the delivery capacity of a much larger one, without diluting who you actually work with.

We are a regular presence at PUG Challenge, the annual gathering of the global OpenEdge community, and active in the OpenEdge community forums — the result of more than three decades of networking in the OpenEdge community.

We have been the EMEA technology partner of Roundtable Software since 2014, providing technical support for Roundtable TSMS customers in the region. We also partner with other OpenEdge consultancies around the world to provide strong combined offerings to the community.

In Denmark, we partner with Leave a Mark Consulting Group and Indicium By Bounty on IT security and compliance, AI adoption and implementation, development projects, and advanced system and data integration.
